Dearest Red Bull Studios,

Thank you for literally giving me space to work out my Rabid Ballads for the first HowAboutBeth show of 2013.

I’m very emotional, and excited, and feel blessed.

Started officially recording Brave with Pete today. ARRGGHHH! Such a nice feeling to hand over months of stressing over vocal arrangements to someone else. Such a nice feeling to work in the same space as someone else and not have to wonder, wonder, wonder…. Brave was the first song I finished after getting back from those cray-cray tours. And I was pretty much wasted on booze for 3 months. Yes, like all the time. My songs were drunk and so was I and that was the point. Going back today is rather amusing because we’ve decided to only keep the vodka crazy takes and re-record all the others even more drunk. God help us all.

Just found out Chris ‘Mac Daddy’ Kelly passed away on Wednesday 1 May 2013.

That is truly sad news, Kris Kross made my childhood so colourful, and clean, and fantastic, and full of energy. I was so looking forward to the reunion.

Thank u for the music, and the hard work, Chris. Enjoy the after-life.
